Posted in Team on April 22nd, 2010 by ALS

NORTH VANCOUVER – Cove Bikes is proud to announce its 2010 Factory Team in partnership with SRAM. Once again Cove has fielded some of the Canada’s best established and emerging talents set on making their mark on the world stage.

Returning for a third year is Slopestyle rider Eric Lawrenuk. 2009 saw Eric take top spot at Goatstyle in Creston BC earning him a trip to Crankworks in Whistler where he narrowly missed qualifying for the big show. Eric also had a standout movie section in Aaron Laroques film “Whats Next”. Watch out for Eric getting rowdy all over the globe at Slopestyle and Dirtjump competitions this season. Eric is also supported by Geax and Smith Optics. Be sure to keep up with him on the Sombrio blog at sombriohappenings.com/blog.

Back on the program is Ben Boyko. A proven slopestyle competitor Ben will be focusing more on print and film projects this season. This partnership has already been a huge asset to Cove in terms of media coverage and product feedback. Also continuing their support for Ben are FSA Gravity Components, Mavic and Rockstar Energy.

Continuing its passion for gravity racing Cove is excited to have Jamie Biluk back on board for 2010. The big man from Manitoba is ready to build on a 2009 season filled with solid results including a trip to the World Championships for Canada in Canberra Australia. This year will see Jamie contest the Canada Cup Series, Canadian Nationals, North American World Cups, US Open and the Canadian Open. Jamie is already involved in developing the 2011 Shocker along with R+D Manager Brian Kelly.

True to our tradition of fostering young talent Cove is supporting the following Privateer and Grassroots Riders: Kristen Smart (Elite DH); Linden Feniak (Junior DH); Holly Feniak (U17 DH); Kye Walstrom (Junior/Elite DH and 4X); Brennan Walstrom (U17 DH); Luke Fulton (Freeride/DJ); Brian Serneels (Elite DH).

Cove Bikes Signs Ben Boyko

Posted in Team on February 8th, 2010 by ALS

NORTH VANCOUVER – Cove Bikes is excited to announce the return of Ben Boyko to its Factory Team Program in 2010 and beyond.

“I’m stoked as ever to be back riding on Cove, they have a perfect understanding of the sport as far as product development and the athletes are concerned. It’s great to be with a Canadian company that has been involved in freeriding since day one. Cove has the bikes that match the new school riding and suit my style so I am super excited about the new partnership.” says Boyko.

Running a full stable of Cove Bikes, including the highly anticipated G-Spot and the re-redesigned Hooker, Boyko will continue to unload his big bag of tricks all over contests, film projects and photo shoots this season.

“Ben’s status within the industry and his already established presence in the media is the perfect platform to show the public what the G-spot is capable of,” says Cove Sales Manager Stuart Kerr “plus his experience in product development can only strengthen our solid lineup of North Shore proven bikes.”

Cove founder Chaz Romalis added “I’m stoked to have local talent representing Cove at a world class level.”

Third year Cove Slopestyle athlete Eric Lawrenuk is pumped to have Ben on board. “I have always admired the perfect stunts that Ben builds, and how they make for sick cover shots. Maybe I can learn a thing or two about that from him!”

Boyko picked up his fresh Cove Foreplay frame and is already prepping for a trip to Spain this February with the FSA Gravity crew.

Ben will continue to be supported by Mavic, FSA Gravity and Rockstar Energy Drink.

Cove Bikes’ Factory Team program is supported by: Sram, Rockshox, Truvativ, Avid, E-Thirteen, Dakine, Obtanium Performace Springs, Oakley, Troy Lee Designs, FSA, Mavic, Okanagan Springs and WTB.
